From the printing press

Interrobang!
Interrobang! June 2023 – Screenprinting
My favorite part of this is not the final image – which I enjoy. It was the process that was used to create it. From letterpress printing of wood type, to inking up lego dots plates made by two of my grandchildren, to scanning and recomposing it all in a way that really embraced the imperfections of printing. To finally screenprinting three colors – and nearly 65 prints of each color – all in one day! I look at this and my heart is ready to burst! WTF?!

I am an artist, scholar, educator, and life-long learner with a curious and resilient spirit. For those interested in the alphabet soup, I have a Ed.D., MFA, MA, and BA. I love writing and finding the intersections of visual art and narrative. I lean into creating artist's books and letterpress printing, especially exploring creative expressions in this space. In this blog, I explore a lot of different topics. And lately that has involved a lot of reflections on grief and resilience. Because even in this stage of my life, having spent over 40 years of my life as a partner in marriage, I'm embracing life on my own and the process of self-discovery.
